The Lace Market is one of Nottingham’s trendiest area’s and a stone’s throw from the Motorpoint Arena for anyone with concert tickets. Trust me, when the lights have come up and you have to spend the next 20 minutes navigating the bowels of the Arena, the last thing you want to do it traipse across town to your bed. So, the great thing about the Lace Market Hotel is that it is a 2 minute walk from your gig. And, even better; it has its very own pub (next door) the Cock & Hoop for a cosy little nightcap in a big enveloping armchair.
Nottingham was done-over in the 70’s and lost a lot of its great buildings but thankfully the Lace Market wasn’t affected by the concrete craze and still remains one of the prettiest areas of the city in terms of architecture. The Lace Market Hotel is no exception and really makes the most of its Georgian features. Most rooms have large sash windows with cool views of the area plus a spacious feel due to the old town-house’s high ceilings. Nottingham should definitely be considered for a romantic UK break with your beloved, it’s a pretty city with plenty of lovely places to eat and drink. But when you’re cocktailed-out, it’d be the cherry on the top to retire to a nice boutique hotel, right? Best Family Hotel In Nottingham
Family rooms in Nottingham hotels are a little bit hard to come by which is a shame because the city is a great place for kids and there is always plenty going on. The Hilton Hotel and the Mercure Hotel both have rooms with sofa beds and are very accommodating towards children, however, such tight-spaced living isn’t always ideal and especially if you have teenagers. Fear not though, we have discovered a very good alternative; The Contemporary Lace Market Apartments.
This apartment accommodation in the city centre gets 10 out of 10 for location, is decorated beautifully and really cosy. A Self-Guided Walking Tour Of Nottingham
I can certainly vouch for the Lace Market Hotel. I stayed there when I got married and it was gorgeous. It’s a bit of a favourite with celebrities or people playing at the arena. When I stayed there Andy Bell from Erasure was at breakfast. As an eighties kid this made my day :- )
